Security Analyst

Security analysts monitor, prevent and stop attacks on private data. In this role, you can expect to spend your days designing and implementing firewalls and other digital security software systems to protect data and network systems across an organization.

Incident Responder/Handler

Incident Responders/Handlers are responsible for identifying, analyzing, and mitigating security breaches or incidents. They work to minimize damage to a organization's systems and data by investigating the cause and scope of an incident, as well as implementing measures to prevent future attacks.

Security Researcher

Security researchers hold one of the most essential roles in cyber security. They design security protocols and study the evolution of unique malware strains that allow other cyber security professionals to monitor and detect vulnerablilities in their networks.

Whether you take the 12-Week Cyber Security Bootcamp or 30-Week Cyber Security Flex Program, you’ll graduate with a diploma and get the fundamental knowledge, real-world experience, and critical soft skills you need to launch a rewarding career as a cyber security professional. You’ll dive into modules on server administration, network security, threat modelling and analysis, incident response, and much more. Throughout your studies, you’ll also have access to on-demand mentorship from industry experts in addition to the full-support of our Student Success Coordinators and Career Services team.

If you want to launch your new career in cyber security as quickly as possible — opt for the Cyber Security Bootcamp. If you’re looking to balance your studies along with work, health and wellness, or caregiver duties — then Cyber Security Flex is the program for you.

But remember: the curriculum, the job outcomes, the objectives are all the same no matter which option you choose.

HOW YOU'LL LEARN

Every week, Cyber Security Bootcamp students attend five weekday lectures while dedicating an extra 50 hours to work on projects, assignments and course collaborations.

In contrast, those enrolled in the Cyber Security Flex Program are only required to attend two lectures a week. Students are also recommended to set aside an additional 25 hours every week to work on projects, assignments and course collaborations.

WHAT YOU WILL LEARN

Network Security

The fundamentals of network and application security are some of the most important tools in your cyber security skillset. You’ll learn to recognize, intercept, and block malicious actors from infiltrating an organization’s secure networks.
Encryption

Defend against brute-force and cyber attacks, like malware and ransomeware, with encryption. You’ll learn how to research, compare, assess, and choose encryption tools and protocols.
Incident Response

Detect and analyze incidents as they happen by looking at modern exploitation techniques. You’ll practice incident reporting, study response methodologies, and combine these skills to develop protection plans.
Coding

Learn the basics of programming. You’ll create and maintain batch and BASH files, and learn how to write basic Python scripts for cyber security-specific scenarios.
Forensics

Discover the what, where, and when of a cyber attack. Complete a post-attack autopsy as you identify, investigate, and recover digital evidence to defend against future attacks.
Threat Detection Engineering

Learn about the important role of critical security controls and the technologies required to build effective cyber defences and a mature security posture.
Threat Defence Operations

Explore and learn how to communicate the relevance of MITRE ATT&CK Framework, Lockheed Martin Cyber Kill Chain and dwell times to a business audience.
Blue Team

Build an effective blue team, an optimized organizational chart, and a functional security operations centre (SOC) to organize and monitor the security of an organization.
