Data is integral to HR. In fact, data analytics is often cited as one of the fastest-growing in-demand skills within HR. Data Analytics for HR - 101 is an introduction into how you can better collect, clean, analyze, and visualize data using Excel and Tableau to make better data-driven decisions in your role.

In conjunction with CPHR British Columbia & Yukon, and aligned to the CPHR Competency Framework, this 12-hour course explores HR-specific cases that cover recruiting, attrition, employee engagement, and much more.

* All participants will receive a certificate upon completion of this course.
* CPHR BC & Yukon members will be given one (1) credit of Continuing Professional Development (CPD) for every hour of participation. Up to 12 CPD credits available for course completion.

WHAT YOU WILL LEARN

  • DAY 1 Introduction to Data Analysis

    Learn the basics of data analysis including Excel foundations, analytics process, and statistics with HR-related data sets.

  • DAY 2 Data Collection & Organization

    Dive deeper into data collection with advanced Excel functions such as VLOOKUP and learn how to handle HR data.
    • Excel techniques (ie. VLOOKUPS & Pivot Tables)

    • Data cleaning techniques & best practices
  • DAY 3 Data Analysis Techniques

    Get to know Tableau and its dashboard functions. Learn to create linear regression models to identify relationships between variables.

    • Linear Regression using Tableau
  • DAY 4 Data Analysis & Visualization

    Visualize your findings and prepare insightful Tableau dashboards by creating a quarterly HR report. Learn how to turn your findings into a story.
