Lighthouse Labs is pleased to announce a $7,000 donation for the creation of the Lighthouse Labs Prize, given annually to a student from SFU's Faculty of Communication, Art and Technology who demonstrates a commitment to personal development and achievment in their studies. The receipient will be awarded a spot at the Lighthouse Labs Web Development Bootcamp course in the summer months. The Lighthouse Labs Prize is intended to recognize promising, creative students in the Faculty of Communication, Art and Technology (FCAT) at Simon Fraser University who have demonstrated interest in web development. The Prize will be offered to a student who has demonstrated creativity, problem-solving, and an aptitude for learning how things work. The student will also have demonstrated aptitude in web development, experience with web platforms and languages and has expressed interest in working in the field after graduation. The recipient of the prize will go through the full 8-week Lighthouse Labs Web Development Bootcamp course, graduating with the skills of an entry level web developer. The intensive, immersive course is primarily a hands-on learning exprience where students learn by building web apps with the support of industry professionals.
