While our philosophy isn’t based around credentials and instead seeks to set you up with the tools you need to be a lifelong effective, adaptive, and curious learner throughout your career — we do award Bootcamp and Flex Program digital diplomas upon graduation.

What are the language requirements for your programs?

The Prep Modules lay the foundation for your success in bootcamp, helping you build essential skills before Day One. These modules are required for all programs—whether you're enrolling in data, cybersecurity, or web development.
We consider the prep work to be the equivalent of two weeks of full-time study on top of your bootcamp. For BC residendents this means the program is considered 14 weeks and for Alberta residents, the prep period extends to four weeks, making the total program length 16 weeks.
Each Prep Module is tailored to your specific program, ensuring you gain relevant knowledge and hands-on practice in the concepts you'll be working with. While the modules must be fully completed at least one week before your bootcamp start date, you can begin as soon as you are accepted into the program. Why We Suggest You Start Early
More time to absorb concepts – The earlier you start, the more confident you’ll feel on Day One. Get support when you need it – Our team is here to help throughout the prep phase.
Stay on track for your chosen start date – Since prep work is required, we strongly recommend starting your application early to give yourself plenty of time to complete it.
The Prep Modules are designed to help you hit the ground running and make the most of your bootcamp experience—so take advantage of the time you have and start as early as possible!

Quels sont les critères d'admission ?
Our admissions process is designed to ensure applicants are well-prepared for bootcamp. The Standard Admissions Process is as follows:
Pass the Logic Test – A 15-minute cognitive assessment focused on problem-solving and critical thinking skills. Complete an Interview – If you pass the Logic Test, you will advance to the final stage, which is a one-on-one interview. This is an opportunity for us to get to know you better and answer any questions about the program. Complete the Prep Modules – Once accepted, you are required to complete program-specific Prep Modules at least one week before bootcamp starts. These modules cover foundational concepts and help ensure you're set up for success. While we estimate that Prep is two weeks of full-time work, you can start as soon as you're confirmed in the program—so we highly recommend applying early to give yourself plenty of time to prepare.

If you are waitlisted for one of our programs, the admissions team will contact you ASAP when a spot becomes available. If no spots open up by the course start date, we will be in touch to discuss your next steps, which may include transferring to the next available cohort, receiving a refund, or exploring other alternative options. You can always reach out to your assigned Learning Advisor or Enrollment Coordinator if you have specific questions about your circumstances.
Do you offer a Post Grad Work Permit (PGWP)?
Please be aware that international students who graduate from diploma programs at Private Career Colleges (including Lighthouse Labs) are not currently eligible to receive a Post-Graduate Work Permit. We have many international students that study with us for various other reasons outside of receiving a PGWP.

Lighthouse Labs is not able to provide study visas of any kind, and we recommend that you verify the specific requirements for a study permit with a licensed immigration consultant.

During the 12-week full-time Bootcamp, you can expect to dedicate 100% of your time and energy to learning. This is an immersive, full-time experience where you will focus entirely on your chosen program, whether it's Web Development, Data Science, or Cybersecurity. Lectures will take up about two hours of your day, Monday through Friday, and the rest of your time (8-12 hours per day) will be spent working on assignments, projects, and reaching for stretch goals. Students often continue working late into the evening and on weekends as they tackle their coursework. We recommend keeping your schedule open and available from 9 AM to 9 PM Monday to Friday to stay on track with the workload. You can find a complete breakdown of the daily schedule on our Student Experience page.
For those in the Flex program, lectures are held either Tuesday/Thursday or Monday/Wednesday at 5 PM PST/8 PM EST or 7 PM PST/10 PM EST, depending on your cohort. In addition to live lectures, you will complete 25 hours of coursework each week. The Flex program spans over 18–30 weeks, offering a longer timeline to complete the same content, with support available as needed. This includes the same level of support as our full-time immersive Bootcamp, including mentorship from industry professionals, access to instructors, peer collaboration, and regular feedback to keep you on track.
Our Intro programs run twice a week for three hours in the evening. The first hour is dedicated to lecture, and the remainder of your time will be spent completing tutorials and working on projects. There’s no homework assigned, but you’ll be given a ton of additional resources to practice on your own.
Regardless of the program and delivery format, Lighthouse Labs runs through statutory holidays with a short break for winter holidays. If you have any questions about the Flex program or anything else, feel free to reach out to [email protected].

Personal Effort: Your level of engagement in the job search process, including applying for roles, networking, and participating in coaching or mock interviews.
Experience & Fit: Members with prior sales experience may secure jobs faster, while others may take more time to align their skills with the job market.

Which of your programs and courses are eligible for Career Services?
Only Bootcamp and Flex Program students are eligible for Career Services.
How does Career Services work for International students?
You may be eligible to work in Canada while studying, if your study permit includes a condition that says you can work on or off campus. You must also meet all the other requirements, such as only starting to work in Canada when your studies begin. For the most up to date information please visit Immigarion and Citizenship website here.
After your studies, your employability in Canada is completely dependent on you being able to independently obtain a work visa or find an employer who is willing to sponsor you. Unfortunately, we are legally unable to help you obtain a work visa and in our experience, it can be very challenging for employers to successfully sponsor students right out of bootcamp. Obtaining a work visa is completely dependent on your unique situation, including your educational or professional background, the type of job you want, and the country you are coming from.
We encourage you to become an expert in your own immigration by contacting Canadian Citizenship and Immigration or an immigration lawyer as early as possible.
If you are unable to work in Canada, we are not able to directly connect you with employers, but we are still happy to support you through resume workshops, technical interviewing coaching, and networking tips.

What is the difference between Web Development Bootcamp and the Web Development Flex Program?
Both bootcamp and flex cover the same material. Students of both will become familiar with the fundamentals of web dev concepts and techniques like Javascript, HTML and CSS, HTTP, Ruby on Rails, and more. The key difference between these programs is the structure. Web Flex is a less concentrated program over a longer stretch of time, whereas Web Bootcamp is more concentrated. These two programs both exist to accommodate a wider variety of student lifestyles and priorities, so that students can strike a balance that works for them without compromising on quality.
Can I enroll in the Web Development Program as an international student?
Yes! International students outside of Canada can apply. If you are already in Canada, you must obtain a study permit to enroll.
We require proof of English proficiency, which can be demonstrated through one of the following:
IELTS (minimum score of 6.0)
TOEFL (minimum score of 80)
Other equivalent recognized tests
Please note that Career Services is only available to students with a valid work visa allowing full-time employment in Canada for at least one year after graduation. Lighthouse Labs cannot provide or assist with visa applications.
Should I take the Bootcamp or the Flex Program?
Both these programs exist so as to accommodate students’ lifestyles and priorities. If you’re currently working in a position that you want to continue while training, we recommend you enroll in the less concentrated Flex Program. This is also a great option if you’re a parent or caregiver with substantial childcare duties. If you want to get started with your new career as soon as possible, and don’t want to wait 30 weeks, the Bootcamp is the better option for you. This is also a good fit if you have priorities to attend to half a year down the road.
Will I get a job after the Web Development Program even if I have no prior background in coding or computer science?
Yes! You don’t need any experience in coding or computer science to succeed in our Web Development Program and be connected to employment afterwards. This program will provide you with everything you need to work as a professional web developer.
What’s the difference between Web Development Program and the Intro to Web Development part-time course?
The part-time course is an introductory overview of the components that comprise a full-stack web application. This course is great for individuals who are interested in increasing their knowledge about web development, or who work in roles adjacent to tech. The Web Development Program is a more in-depth look at web development, and will provide students with everything they need to kick-start a career as a professional developer.
